| Southern
Maryland Hospital Center is recognized for its centers of excellence
in Maternal Child Health, Outpatient Services, and Mental Health Services.
But the true distinction of Southern Maryland Hospital is comprehensiveness.
All major medical services are provided. SMHC is the
only full-service medical center in the region, conveniently located
near Upper Marlboro,
Oxon Hill, Hillcrest Heights, and Brandywine, MD. The hospital was founded by its president, Francis P.
Chiaramonte, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.S. In the years since its founding,
SMHC has grown into today’s 358 bed, full-service, acute and 20
bed subacute facility. With a commitment to all of Prince George’s
and Charles County, SMHC has become a top ranked Medical center. Their
total campus is comprised of Guest Stay quarters and a professional
center.
All Departments of SMHC provide friendly and experienced
staff, a pleasant and clean environment, and state-of-the-art approaches
to
healthcare. Services are delivered with a compassionate and personal
touch.
They
strive to make your medical experience rewarding by personally sharing
in your low points, and successes. Staff members offer the help, the
‘how to” and the hope needed to improve the quality of life
for you and your family.
SMHC departments are all led by a board-certified Medical
Director. Throughout your medical experience with SMHC, their physicians
and therapists maintain close contact with your primary physician.
To stay ahead in the Medical industry, a facility must
make an effort to be able to serve the community in which you support
by means of personnel, and technology. Their equipment and technology
are the latest, but the care remains rooted in the tradition of old-fashioned
hospitality.
